Why Polymer-Modified Asphalt Matters (The Secret Sauce)

Standard roofing shingles use "oxidized" asphalt. The oxidization process makes the asphalt hard and brittle, which means it bakes in the sun and cracks easily as it ages on your roof.

Malarkey does it differently. They use NEX® Polymer Modified Asphalt, which is essentially asphalt blended with synthetic rubber (polymers).
